Having a southern heritage, food has always been of importance to me. Not only for the basic fact that one needs food to sustain, but that food has always been the life of the party. From picnics to tailgates (yes, there is a difference), "what are we eating?" has always been the most popular question. When I began my wellness journey, I realized that I would be asking this question even more than before. I no longer wanted to participate in eating the fast food/non-organic/processed "food" which was typically served at these types of events.
I realized that the only way for me to get what I needed (and to possibly nudge people's minds by expanding their eatable horizons) was to bring really awesome healthy food. However, I had no idea what to prepare that was really awesome healthy food. So, I started a dining out adventure to discover what was out there and what I could re-create myself. This adventure turned into somewhat of a practice (ok, so I've always enjoyed dining out...) where I am always looking for new health food restaurants to enjoy and capture ideas from.
Here in Los Angeles, us Angelenos are blessed to have a variety of different dining out options that are organic, non-GMO, vegetarian, vegan, paleo, macrobiotic, etc. I wanted to share my SoCal experiences so I turned to Eat.Drink.Shrink - Foodie Adventures. More than anything, I am thrilled to be sharing what I have learned in my journey, not at all claiming to be any type of expert but just a normal girl living in an organic world. I hope to inspire people - the old saying "If I can do it, you can do it" fits perfectly in this scenario.
