Magic

Do you ever find anything seemingly normal magical?  How about the fact that we wake up every morning, with the sun having risen again (or maybe it's raining, and in SoCal a little bit of rain would be a big blessing in this drought we're having) and that inspirational feeling that the day is new and anything can happen?  That is actually pretty magical if you think about it.  However I feel that many of us, myself included at times, tend to get caught up in the daily hustle and bustle of our lives and miss out on some of the magic.

I have been paying more attention to the little details in my life recently.  The little coincidences.  Sometimes there are big coincidences.  Being aware of them has certainly made my life more magical and comical, to say the least.  Just recently, I was with my friend who is equally obsessed with the yearly calendar only sold at The Dollar Tree (seriously, it's an amazing - and cheap - calendar).  We scoured the whole store and could not find anything that resembled an item like a calendar.  Until out of the corner of my eye, I saw two little books slid in the corner of the shelf.  I pulled both of them out of the corner.  What are the odds that there were only two of these calendars left?  Odds?  Coincident?  Magic.

I can certainly say that slowing down to observe the magic has increased my joy and happiness.  And isn't that what we're all trying to do here, just be happier?  Magic.
