My Saturn Return finally peaked a few days ago and I am en route out of it. I still expect more changes along said route, as I am still in this very nomadic transition. However, I am excited.
One of the most important lessons I have learned so far is to take care of myself - mentally, physically, emotionally. For the last year, I have had a steady yoga practice, attending class roughly 3-5 times a week, which has been wonderful for balancing out the whole mind/body/spirit aspect. I have always been great at treating myself to a mani/pedi/facial/massage (who doesn't love being pampered?). I recently got out of a meeting early, found that I had an extra hour to kill before my next meeting, walked right by a massage place on the way to my car, turned around and walked in the door - I figured one hour to kill = one hour massage. I walked out of there feeling like I could conquer anything I put my mind to. If everyone took an hour a week to pamper/treat/take care of themselves, this world would be nirvana.
I recently have been craving more, however I was not sure exactly what I was craving more of. A week ago, a lovely woman by the name of Siri called me. I had done a reiki session with her maybe three years ago. She had kept my number, randomly came across it, picked up her phone and called me. They say timing is key - this was a perfectly tuned in dial.
Ahh reiki. That's what I was craving. I went to see Siri for a reiki session and walked out having purchased a package for five sessions. It was amazing. If you have not experienced a reiki session or have no idea what it is - it is basically a healing session using prana (life force energy) ... the client lays down comfortably (and can even fall asleep) while Siri works her reiki master magic to heal and balance your energy. I walked out of there, again, feeling like I could conquer anything I put my mind to.
There is a reason why in the airplane safety videos they say put your oxygen mask on first, then assist others. I think this applies to all aspects of our lives - take care of yourself, then you can take care of others/conquer anything you put your mind to. I think there is an extra dose of magic in taking care of myself during my nomadic journey - I may not have my own physical house at the moment, but I always have the house I live in - my body - treating, pampering, and healing is extra grounding during this time of transition for me.
Siri mentioned during the session that it is a very generous thing to take care of yourself - not only are you tending to your own healing and care, but you contribute to universal healing as well. Life is filled with abundant opportunities, magic and miracles - so glad the phone rang and it was Siri on the other end.
